Antibiotics should only be used in life-threatening situations. Society more and more demands careful use to avoid residuals in the environment and problems with resistant bacteria. Farmers prove that it is possible to limit the use of antibiotics, even to zero. Danish farmer field schools and in Dutch farmer-networkgroups not only resulted in awareness but also in non or very low antibiotic use. The only condition is: you have to be determined to limit antibiotics. Based on the conditions on the farm, an farmer specific advice will be developed in accordance with the farmer to give it the best possible chance to success.
