Animals which are well are less stressed and are more healthy, are more resistant, can do without medicine and make farming more joyful and economic. Animal welfare is one of the important issues in society and provides a license to produce. To assess animals different systems can be used. In the WelfareQuality system body-condition, cleanliness, locomotion, skin-damages are assessed and behavior including the time to lay down is recorded. The results of an assessment provide a good basis for optimizing buildings and management.
